Bruneck is the heart and soul of the
lush Puster Valley, which is
not only due to its picturesque central location. The Gader Valley
runs southward into the Dolomite
Mountains, to the north the quiet
Ahrn Valley flows into the glaciers of the Zillertal Alps.
It's a small world of its own, as colorful as the seasons and with
an almost inexhaustible variety
of leisure time and recreational offerings. |

Special emphasis should
also be given to the cultural
offerings of Bruneck and the surrounding area:
In the out-door Folklore Museum
in Dietenheim which shows the
history of peasant life with dozens of original buildings with kitchens,
living rooms, stables, bed chambers and mills. Sounds are everywhere,
cracking and creaking, the babbling brook, the spicy aromas of the
farmers gardens fill the air. Beside the works of Michael Pacher,
the City Museum of Graphics in
Bruneck presents interesting
temporary exhibitions as well as exhibits of young artists in regular
intervals. Furthermore, there is a well-equipped artist's workroom
available in the museum. |
